The North American company has divided its vehicle testing stage into two phases, Alpha and Beta, and this next video shows the Tesla Model S, which as you can notice, features a slightly modified front fascia, during the Alpha phase which began in 2010.  The 2012 Model S is rear drive. The compact electric motor and transmission assembly — much smaller than a conventional internal combustion engine and gearbox — is mounted behind the rear axle line and under the trunk floor. More than 7,000 lithium ion battery cells are packaged in a reinforced structure that helps comprise the vehicle's floorpan. Cargo volume exceeds 30 cubic feet thanks to functional front and rear luggage areas. As we have previously reported, the Model S is motivated by an electric motor that is powered by a 42 kWh lithium-ion battery. The package includes a quick charging station for the customer’s garage, 30,000 kilometers (18,641 miles) worth of eco-electricity with which to run it and a one-year unlimited-use pass at all public RWE charging stations. Sadly, it is only available in Germany right now, with no clear plans to expand to other countries. Changes to the car are relatively subtle. Exterior mods include the addition of a front spoiler lip, rear wing and rear diffuser, all rendered in carbon fiber, plus LED daytime running lights in the grille and underfloor "space lights" that are activated when the door is opened or the keyless fob is pressed. At a sides of the car, there have been underfloor ‘Space Lights,’ that have been activated with a keyless fob or by opening a doorway. At a back, a BRABUS rear wing and a Brabus rear diffuser can be seen. BRABUS Zero Emission works on eco-friendly vehicle concepts. In customizing the TESLA Roadster the team of engineers, designers and marketing specialists goes beyond just refining the vehicle. The decision to buy this premium electric sports car is even easier to make if customers have their own powerful charging stations at home. That's why the RWE-BRABUS high-tech quick charging station is included in the TESLA Roadster Sport BRABUS Green Package. The purchase price includes the professional installation of the stylish high-tech charger in the customer's garage. To give the mid-engine sports car an even more striking face the BRABUS designers refine the front fascia with an especially light carbon-fiber front lip and LED daytime running lights integrated into the front grille. The sides of the TESLA are refined with futuristic BRABUS underfloor ‘Space Lights.' They are activated with the keyless fob or by opening a door. In the rear the BRABUS rear wing and the BRABUS rear diffuser draw the eye's attention. Both are made from lightweight yet high-strength carbon fibers.
