He is a natural goalscorer notable for his finishing and fantastic heading ability despite not being above average height. Radamel prefers to be called by his middle name, Falcao, though he is sometimes referred to by the nickname El Tigre (The Tiger). Falcao is a dynamic striker noted for his ability to finish with both feet, a strong burst of pace, and his intensity of play. Falcao is a second generation footballer: his father, Radamel García, played professionally as a defender in Colombia. Falcao is named after the 1980s Brazilian and A.S. Roma legend Falcão. Handanović started his career at Slovan and was later transferred to Domžale where he spent two seasons. He was signed by Udinese in the summer of 2004 at the age of 20. He was on loan to Treviso in summer 2005, but in January 2006, he was exchanged with Matteo Sereni to Lazio. In July 2006, he was loaned to Rimini, joining Rimini's other loaned players, Digão of AC Milan and Ahmed Barusso of A.S. Roma. The club finished 5th in the Serie B and conceded the 4th least number of goals in the league. He returned to Udinese in summer 2007, where he replaced Morgan De Sanctis, and signed a new and improved contract which will last until 30 June 2012. He signed the contract along teammates Asamoah Gyan and Fabio Quagliarella. Handanović has been capped 42 times for Slovenia. He made his debut for national team on 17 November 2004, in a match against Slovakia. He also played for Slovenia in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. His parents are of Bosnian descent.His elder cousin, Jasmin Handanović plays for Empoli in Serie B. They both play as goalkeepers for the Slovenia national football team. He is the current WBA featherweight boxing super champion. John is the fourth Indonesian to win a boxing world title, following Ellyas Pical, Nico Thomas, and Suwito Lagola. John started boxing in his early childhood and was trained by his father Johan Tjahjadi (aka Thjia Foek Sem), a former amateur boxer. John turned professional in 1997 and is known as "Thin Man" before he proclaimed his new nickname "The Dragon" that he uses until today. In 2005 John split with trainer Sutan Rambing then joined Harry's Gym in Perth, Australia, where he is currently trained and managed by Craig Christian. In the year 2008, Chris John was interviewed by ESPN and he stated that he will fight another 5 or 6 fights and will retire as the best featherweight that the world have ever seen. On October 24, Chris reached and won his 10th milestone world title defense fight, which was also his 5th mandatory fight, against Japan boxer Hiroyuki Enoki in Tokyo, Japan. On February 28, 2009, Chris John again staked his world title against Rocky Juarez in Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, which served as the main undercard for the Marquez-Diaz lightweight title bout. This was the first time he had fought on American soil. John seemed to take control of the fight in the middle rounds, but Juarez rallied to take the final two, resulting in a seemingly controversial draw. HBO's Harold Lederman and Max Kellerman both had the fight scored 8 rounds to 4 for Chris John. John had a rematch again Juarez on September 19 and the fight was won by the Indonesian via a 12 round unanimous decision. He stayed there for three years before joining Real Madrid at age 15. After appearing for Cadete A, he swiftly progressed through the junior teams, Juvenil C and finally the Juvenil A. In his last campaign (2005–06) he scored 18 goals in the league and three more in the Copa de Campeones, including the winner in the final against Real Valladolid, adding another three in the Spanish Juvenil Cup. Switching to Real Madrid Castilla in 2006–07, Mata was given the number 34 shirt in the first team, while wearing number 28 in Castilla. In spite of Castilla's final second division relegation, Mata finished the season as the side's second best scorer at nine, behind striker Álvaro Negredo (18). Mata had a contractual clause at Real Madrid during his last season at the club, and eventually agreed to sign for Valencia CF on March 2007, starting in 2007–08. Benefitting from constant injuries to Vicente and the ostracism to which then-manager Ronald Koeman condemned Miguel Ángel Angulo, Mata gradually carved a niche on Valencia's first eleven. On March 20, 2008, he scored twice in the Spanish Cup semifinal match against FC Barcelona to help Valencia reach the final against Getafe CF where, on April 16, he scored the opener in a 3–1 win. During that first season, Mata was voted the team's Best young player by fans and players alike. In the Spanish Supercup, Mata scored against his former club Real Madrid in a 3–2 first leg victory, but Valencia lost 5–6 on aggregate as Real Madrid won 4–2 in the second leg. He started 2008–09 well, scoring in the opener against RCD Mallorca (3–0 win). He also netted the only goal of the game against CA Osasuna, latching on to a long ball from David Villa. On 25 September 2008, Mata's understanding with Villa proved to be growing in efficiency, as he set up both of his teammate's goals in a 2–0 away win over Málaga CF. Three days later, Mata put in a superb performance against Deportivo de La Coruña, scoring one and creating the other three, in a 4–2 home victory. Towards the end of the campaign, Mata managed to score two very important late goals for Valencia: the first, the 3–2 winner at Sporting de Gijón, and the second a penalty against Sevilla FC at home, to put Valencia 2–1 up (specialist Villa had already been replaced due to injury) in an eventual 3–1 success. He achieved impressive stats during the season, finishing with 11 successful strikes and 13 assists (in the latter category, league's second-best, behind FC Barcelona's Xavi). Mata helped Spain win the 2006 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship, where he was a key player. 'Juanín' finished the championship second to his teammate Alberto Bueno (five goals) as top goal scorer of the competition, with four in five matches. On 1 February 2007, under-21 coach Iñaki Sáez included him on his squad for the friendly against England, alongside Roberto Soldado, José Manuel Jurado, Sergio Sánchez, Miguel Torres, Esteban Granero, and Antonio Adán, at just 18 years and 10 months. On 14 November 2008, Vicente del Bosque called Mata for the senior team to play in a friendly against Chile. He did not leave the bench in a 3–0 home win. Llorente started his career with Athletic Bilbao, swiftly working his way through the various youth ranks, and becoming one of the most important offensive players for the club in the following decade, since making his first team debuts in 2005. A Spanish international since late 2008, he helped the national team win the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Llorente playing for Athletic Bilbao against Hércules, during which he scored the first goal of 2010–11. Though born in Pamplona, Navarre, Llorente grew up in the municipality of Rincón de Soto in La Rioja. He joined Athletic de Bilbao's youth system in 1996, at the age of 11, being eligible through his Navarrese roots. He spent several seasons in the various junior levels of the club, moving in 2003 to CD Baskonia of the fourth category, effectively an Athletic youth team, and also a feeder club since 1997. Llorente scored 12 goals in 33 appearances for Baskonia, paving way for his promotion to Bilbao Athletic, Athletic's reserve team, then in Segunda División B. After featuring in 16 games and scoring four goals for the Bilbao Athletic in the first half of season, Llorente was awarded with a contract extension until June 2008. On January 16, 2005, he made his first-team debut in a 1–1 home draw against RCD Espanyol. Three days later, in a Spanish Cup match with UD Lanzarote, Llorente scored a hat-trick in a 6–0 victory, and would go on to feature in all but five of the 19 remaining league games while scoring three goals, and also featuring in four Cup matches and the UEFA Cup game against FK Austria Wien. Before the 2005–06 season, Llorente's squad number was promoted from number 32 to 9.He scored in the opening day, a Basque derby 3–0 victory against Real Sociedad. Giorgio Chiellini started playing football at just 6 years of age for the youth squad of Livorno and at first was used as a central midfielder. As he matured, he switched to playing as a winger and finally he found his position as a left back. He played in the clubs' youth academy between 1990 and 2000, before earning first team call-ups for the 2000–2001 Serie C1 season. In his first season with the first team, Chiellini made 3 appearances and followed that up with 5 more appearances the following season. In the summer of 2002, he was signed by Roma in co-ownership deal, for €3.1M, (who also saw Marco Amelia , moved to opposite direction, for €2.8M) however, he was loaned back to Livorno for the 2002–2003 Serie B season, after Livorno had earned promotion. During his 4 season spell with the clubs' first team Chiellini made 57 total appearances, scoring 4 goals, before his high-profile transfer to European giants, and Scudetto holders Juventus F.C.. After a lengthy spell in Italy's lower leagues, Storari arrived in Serie A aged 27. Steady performances for F.C. Messina prompted his signing by country giants A.C. Milan. Born in Pisa, Storari finished his football formation at Perugia Calcio and Montevarchi Calcio Aquila 1902 (six months), making his professional debuts with A.C. Ancona, in the third division. With the latter, he helped to a promotion in 1999–2000. After two seasons, Storari left for S.S.C. Napoli which was also then in level two, in a joint-ownership deal. He continued to play in that level, joining F.C. Messina Peloro on loan in January 2002, in exchange for Emanuele Manitta, with the deal being made permanent in the 2003 summer. Messina promoted in 2003–04, with Storari an undisputed starter. He made his Serie A debut on 12 September 2004, against Parma FC, in a 0–0 away draw, as the newcomer club finished in 7th place. In the following seasons, he remained the starter, as Messina nearly relegated in 2005–06, being reinstated after the outcome of the 2006 Italian football scandal, eventually dropping down a level in the following season, as last. On 17 January 2007, Storari was acquired by A.C. Milan, as an emergency signing, as both Dida and backup Željko Kalac were out of action due to injury; he signed a 2½ year contract (until summer 2010).In three league appearances, against A.S. Livorno Calcio, A.C. Siena and Udinese Calcio, he conceded seven goals. He did not appear in any cup matches since his debut for Milan commenced shortly after they were eliminated from the competition by A.S. Roma, on January 31. On 3 July 2007, reports surfaced that Milan were close to sending Storari to La Liga side Real Betis, on a one-year loan. The deal was increased to two years, and the player, along with his manager, traveled to Seville. Although having stayed in the city for three days, Betis president Manuel Ruiz de Lopera failed to meet with the player and Storari returned to Italy as the deal failed to materialize. On August 12, Storari was eventually loaned to another club in Spain, Levante UD, on a two-year contract. However, the loan deal ended after only six months, as the Valencian team was immerse in a deep financial crisis; on 5 January 2008, Storari returned to Italy, with Cagliari Calcio due to Levante's inability to pay his salary. "[The] club was in financial difficulty and couldn’t pay me...there are some wonderful people here who were honest with us, but working without pay is a difficult situation to be in.” Storari signed a loan contract for ACF Fiorentina in July 2008. His output consisted of a cup match and another in the league, barred by longtime first-choice Sébastien Frey. Due to injury to starter Christian Abbiati, Storari began 2009–10 as first-choice, over Dida; on 22 August 2009, two years and three months after his last official match for the club, he was between the posts for the 2–1 win at Siena. Additionally, in October, he signed a new contract, adding two extra years to his link, but soon got injured, losing his place to the Brazilian. After the recovery of Abbiati, Storari faced additional competition for a regular starting berth; thus, on 15 January 2010, he went on loan to U.C. Sampdoria, replacing injured Luca Castellazzi. He played his first game two days later, in a 1–1 home draw against Calcio Catania. After Sampdoria failed to agree a deal with Milan to sign him outright, after losing Castellazzi to F.C. Internazionale Milano on a free transfer, Storari was sold to Juventus F.C. for a fee of €4.5M on 23 June 2010, becoming the second signing of head coach Luigi Delneri and sports director Giuseppe Marotta, with whom Storari already had worked at Sampdoria. After starting out with the hometown side FK Rudar Kosovska Mitrovica, Krasić was noticed by FK Vojvodina in 1999 and he made a switch northwards at age 14. He spent the next 4 and a half seasons in Novi Sad where he further raised his level and became the team captain. FK Vojvodina and CSKA Moscow were in negotiations over Krasić's transfer since January 2004, but the deal stalled. The player himself even made several unsuccessful trips to Moscow.Finally, during summer 2004 the deal got completed and the winger was on his way to Russia. He featured in three games during the club's UEFA Cup 2004–05 winning run, including a cameo appearance in the final. He also helped them win the Russian title in 2005 and 2006, the Russian Cup in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009, and the Russian Super Cup in 2006, 2007 and 2009. After much speculation in the summer of 2010, Juventus and CSKA Moscow agreed on a fee for Krasić reported to be in the range of about €15 million. Krasić officially became a Juventus player on 21 August and was given shirt number 27. Krasić was instrumental in his home début against Sampdoria, assisting a goal and creating many chances. The game ended 3–3. In his second away game in the Serie A, against Udinese, Krasic proved once again instrumental in their 4–0 victory, assisting Quagliarella and Marchisio for a goal each. Krasić scored his first Juventus goals against Cagliari on 26 September 2010, hitting a hat-trick. He scored his first European goal for Juventus, helping his side salvage a point against Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in the Group A tie of the 2010–11 UEFA Europa League, in a match which finished 1–1. On 26 October 2010, he was given a two-match ban after diving, although successfully winning a penalty (the penalty was then missed), during the league match against Bologna. Krasic scored a goal in a 0-2 away win over Genoa after Eduardo put a ball in his own net on 18th minute. On December 12th 2010, in the game against Lazio, Krasic scored a very late, match winning goal in which his attempted cross deflected off Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera and into the net. The match ended immediately after the goal in a 2-1 victory for Juventus.He scored a screamer which guided the Bianconeri to a 2-1 victory against Brescia. Krasic has been an important part of Serbia-Montenegro under-21 squad on the last two European U-21 championships, as well as at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He was in the team that finished as runners-up in the 2004 European under-21 Championship in Germany, but did not play in any games. Two months later, he was part of the Serbia and Montenegro squad at the 2004 Summer Olympics. In May 2006, Krasić was playing a leading role for Serbia-Montenegro in the 2006 European under-21 Championship in 2007 against Kazakhstan. He also played in the match against Portugal on 28 March at the Red Star Stadium at Belgrade. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. He was an important player for the Serbia national football team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification.
